Florida Harm Reduction Initiative was established in 2016 in Tallahassee, Florida and continues to work alongside our community as a peer-run program with the mission to eliminate fatal opioid overdose and other drug related harms by providing outreach and access to life-saving tools such as Naloxone, sterile syringes, fentanyl test strips, sharps boxes, clean-use supplies (Sterile water/alcohol wipes, etc), home HIV test kits and educational resources such as overdose recognition and response training. All services and supplies are FREE and for ANYONE. Despite facing political and social resistance, Florida harm reduction advocates remain fiercely committed to saving lives through evidence-based, compassionate strategies that challenge outdated punitive policies. This movement is not just about preventing fatalities—it’s about affirming the humanity of every individual impacted by drug related harm and the war on drugs through empathy, advocacy on the local/state/federal level and connection by meeting them where they are at without coercion or judgement
